1. Change your Facebook password

   (Go to account settings and change the password: https://www.facebook.com/settings?tab=account)
   
   

   Use some complex password (minimum 8letters, include small and capital cases, digits and special characters. Do not use your name or date of birth etc.)

2. Remove unwanted applications.

   Applications can access your data based on the permissions you have given. Best way is to use only trusted wanted applications. You can remove apps or revoke permissions from the app settings tab(https://www.facebook.com/settings?tab=applications)
   

3. Install a good antivirus, update it and scan your computer

Follow these steps to change your APN 

1. Visit http://www.unlockit.co.nz/ on your iPhone Safari browser and tap on Continue button

2. Tap on Custom APN

3. Enter your APN settings in the corresponding field and tap on Create Profile/E-mail Profile

4. If you tap Create Profile button, you will get a prompt to install the profile. You can verify the contains and tap Install button. This profile contains APN settings you entered and a Home Screen shortcut to unlock site. If the APN settings you entered are correct, you will able to connect to internet and browse.         

So how to open camera app when the phone is locked?

1. Double tap on the home button
2. You will get a camera icon near the lock screen
   
3. Tap on the camera icon to open the camera app.
4. Press the volume-up button to take a picture.

Method 1: Run Windows XP in Windows 7 using XP Mode and then run Turbo C from Windows XP. The new Windows XP Mode lets you run older Windows XP business software right on your Windows 7 desktop. Windows XP Mode comes as a separate download and works only with Windows 7 Professional and Ultimate. Windows XP Mode also requires virtualization software such as Windows Virtual PC. Both are available free on the Microsoft website. So if you are running Windows 7 Home Basic, this method will not work. So I am not explaining this method now.

Method 2: Using DOSBox

DOSBox is a DOS-emulator that uses the SDL-library which makes DOSBox very easy to port to different platforms. DOSBox has already been ported to many different platforms, such as Windows, BeOS, Linux, MacOS X…
DOSBox also emulates CPU:286/386 realmode/protected mode, Directory FileSystem/XMS/EMS, Tandy/Hercules/CGA/EGA/VGA/VESA graphics, a SoundBlaster/Gravis Ultra Sound card for excellent sound compatibility with older games.

DOSBox is totally free of charge and OpenSource.

So you can run old DOS Games and DOS programs using the DOSBox. Follow the bellow steps to install Turbo C IDE.

1. Download DOSBox . As of now the latest version is 0.74. Download Win32 installer for windows
2. Install DOSBox
3. Create a folder for Dos Programs. For example I am creating a folder ‘Dos’ in my ‘C’ drive.
4. Run DOSBox
5. In the DOSBox window, we can type the dos commands. First we will mount the ‘Dos’ folder to DOSBox. Type the following commands
   

   MOUNT C C:\Dos
   C: 

   

6. If you have Turbo C Installer, you need to install it. Step 7-10 are the installation steps. If you have the installed files ie a folder named TC or turbo c and inside that sub folders ‘BIN’, ‘BGI’ etc, goto step 11.
   
7. Copy the installation files to C:\Dos\TCSetup
8. Run the following command in DOSBox
   

   C:\Dos\TCSetup\INSTALL.EXE 

9. Change source drive to ‘C’ and press enter
   
10. We are going to install it to TC which is the default option. Select Start Installation by pressing the down arrow key and press enter. The installation will start and and you will get message once it is complete. Continue by pressing any key, close the read me me file. Now we are ready to run Turbo C
    
    
    
11. In the DOSBox command terminal, type the following command to get the Turbo C Editor. TC\BIN\TC.EXE
    
    
12. Write, compile, debug and run your programs
    
    
13. If you get any errors saying cannot include your header files like stdio.h etc… : Make sure that your Libraries are configured correctly. Goto Turbo C’s Option menu, select ‘Directories’ and make sure that Include directories path is ‘C:\TC\INCLUDE’ and Library Directory is ‘C:\TC\LIB’
    
14. You can Switch to Full Screen view or back to normal view by pressing Alt + Enter keys

Gmail desktop notifications let you know when you have a new email or Chat message. When you enable these notifications, you’ll see a pop-up when new messages arrive so that even if you’re not looking at your Gmail, you’ll still know when someone wants to talk to you. For now, these notifications are available only if you use Google Chrome as your browser.

Chat notifications are enabled by default. You can disable them in your Gmail settings. To enable or disable email or Chat notifications, follow these steps:

1. Click the Settings link in the upper-right corner of Gmail.
2. On the General tab, select the option you’d like in the Desktop Notifications section. You’ll be able to turn Chat notifications on or off, and can also choose to turn email notifications off, receive notifications for all incoming email, or only those Gmail marks ‘important’.
3. Click Save.

If you are not yet allowed Chrome to show desktop notifications, you will get a message to allow to show notifications.

Enable Desktop Notification For Google Calendar

1. Go to the Labs tab under Calendar Settings
2. Turn on "Gentle Reminders"
3. Click Save

Currently These desktop notifications work only in Google Chrome for Windows and Google Chrome beta for Linux.

Disable Notifications

You can disable in Gmail/Calendar settings or we can disable all the notifications by

1. Go to Chrome Options
2. Select “Under the Hood” tab
3. Click on “Content Settings”
4. Select “Notifications”
5. Change the Desktop Notifications Settings

Goto: Account ->Privacy Settings  http://www.facebook.com/settings/?tab=privacy

The first section is Connecting on Facebook. There you can control basic information your friends will use to find you on Facebook. Click on View Settings. Your name, profile picture, gender and networks are visible to everyone. You can set who all can search for you on facebook, send friend request, messages etc. You can change settings by selecting "Everyone" / "Friends of Friends" / "Friends only". Update the settings and go back to the privacy page.

Next section – “Sharing on Facebook” is an important section. There you can set what all details can be shared and to whom. The details which you share with “Everyone” can be accessed by anyone in the facebook including the application. So it is better not to allow your details to “Everyone”. If you think you want more friends or to be more social, you can choose “Friends of friends” option. Friends of friends means only your friends and there friends can access your details.

Click set same setting to all details by clicking on the setting in left side or select “Customize” and click on Customize settings to set different settings for different details.

I recommend you to select at least “Friends of Friends” settings for your personal details.

Important: Controlling Apps, Games and Websites from accessing your information

This section controls what information is shared with websites and apps, including search engines (apps and websites you and your friends use already have access to your name, profile picture, gender, networks, friend list, user ID, username, and any other information you share with everyone). You can view your apps, remove any you don’t want to use, or turn off platform completely. Turning off platform means you won’t be able to use any platform apps or websites and we won’t share your information with them.

Click on Edit your settings in the Apps and Websites section.

Here you can see a list of applications that you are using(or in others words the applications which can access your personal data).

Click on “Remove” button to remove/controll the applications or you can Turn off all platform apps(High safty for your profile).

If you click on “Remove” button, you will get a complete list of allowed applications.

You can remove an application by clicking on the remove button or you can edit which all details can be accessed by that application.

If you click on Edit Settings, you can see the application permissions and which information is accessed.

For example, I am using Windows Live application and it can access my Basic info, profile info, contact info and almost all the details. “Last data access:” shows when did this application accessed my data last time. The Windows live application never accessed my data.

There are few details which are required by that application to run. You have to grant access to that details and you can revoke access to other details.

Best option – Remove all the applications

I removed all the applications, So am I safe now?

NOOOO.. If your friend is using an application, then it can access your information. So how we can disable that?

Click on Edit Settings button in “Info accessible through your friends” section  and uncheck all the options and Save Changes.

Next section is "Instant Personalization". Disable Instant Personalization to prevent facebook partners(Bing, Rotten, Docs etc.) from receiving any of your information through instant personalization, even content you have made available to everyone.

“Public Search”- Enable or disable your profile from appearing in public search engines.

Well.. You are still not safe but at least few things are in your control. If you want complete safety and privacy- Remove your Facebook account

At last, Apple has removed VLC media player from its application store. Thus the incompatibility between the GNU General Public License and the App Store terms of use is resolved – the hard way.

Default video player in iPhone, iPad and iPod can play only mp4 format but the VLC for iOS devices allows us to play most of the video formats. But it has been removed from the App Store after Apple received the official copyright infringement complain from VLC developers.

Incompatibility between the GNU General Public License and the App Store terms of use?

Yes. The App Store terms of use specifies that every iPhone/iPod/iPad application is tied to a specific user account when it is downloaded(even if the application is free), so you have no license to copy or distribute the application. But the VLC media player is released under GNU General Public License which requires that any software using that license and any derivative works be able to be freely copied and distributed. So the GNU GPL & AppStore terms of use are not compatible with each other.

So, Now how I can install VLC on my iPad/iPhone/iPod?

VLC media player is now available in Cydia repository- rpetri.ch/repo. But you need to have a jailbroken iPhone, iPad or iPod touch to install it.

1. Open Cydia application on your device
2. Add http://rpetri.ch/repo as a source in Cydia
3. Search for VLC and install it
4. Done

Steps

1. Install the latest Snow Leopard update (10.6.6) and get Mac Appstore application
2. Run MacStore App from the doc and sign in to your account
3. Download and install Twitter, it’s free (link). Now Go to Applications folder and locate Twitter.
4. Right click and select Show Package Contents, navigate to Contents folder and copy _CodeSignature, _MASReceipt and CodeResources
5. Download the paid apps dmg file and install the application
6. Then Right click on the application file, Show Package Contents, navigate to Contents folder and delete _CodeSignature, _MASReceipt and CodeResources. Now paste in the files you copied from the Twitter app
7. Done

You send a link to your audience, and then everyone you invited watches a synchronized view of your slide show in their browser. The Broadcast Slide Show feature requires a network service to host the slide show. You can use
PowerPoint Broadcast Service which is provided by Microsoft(and it is free ) or a broadcast service provided by your organization, hosted on a SharePoint server that has the Microsoft Office Web Apps installed.

Anyone with the link to your slide show can view it! That is, if an invited audience member forwards the link to someone else, that other person can view your slide show as well, provided that they have access to the service.

Broadcast your presentation

1. On the Slide Show tab, in the Start Slide Show group, click Broadcast Slide Show.
2. You can change broadcasting service or use default free service from Microsoft. Here I am using default service.
3. PowerPoint will connect to MS server and you have to enter you Hotmail/live username and password
4. Finally you will get a link to the broadcasting page. Send that link to your friends so they can view the presentation.

Also note the bellow points

Any transitions in your presentation are shown as Fade transitions in the browser.

Screensavers and email pop-ups can disrupt the audience’s view of the slide show.

Audio (sounds, narration) is not transmitted to the audience through the browser.

You cannot add ink annotations or markup drawn onto the slide show during the presentation.

If you play a video in your presentation, the browser does not show it to the audience.

Happy Broadcasting

For example, you can grant your friend or parents to access your gmail account, so they can read and send mails on your behalf.

You won’t be able to give anyone permission to change your account password or settings, or chat on your behalf.  Here’s how:

1. Click the Settings link, and select the Accounts tab.
2. Under ‘Grant access to your account,’ click the Add another account link.
3. Enter the email address of the person you’d like to access your account and click Next Step.
4. You’ll see a confirmation message. Click Send email to grant access if you’re sure.
5. The delegate will receive a verification email explaining that you’ve granted access to them.
   • After the delegate confirms this request, it may take up to 30 minutes for the verification process to be completed. To see if the delegate has confirmed access to your account, look at the Accounts tab in Settings

   If someone has granted access to their account to you, you can access it by clicking the down-arrow next to your email address in the upper-left corner. Select your delegate’s email address from the drop-down menu.

Signing out of any one of the accounts will sign you out of all the accounts you’re currently viewing, and, of course, you can revoke access at any time.
